Timeline

How long before our wedding should we start our dance lessons?
Ideally you should begin your lessons between 8 to 10 weeks before your wedding. If you have less time we will endeavour to arrange lessons to suit the shorter timescale.

When should we contact you to book our dance lessons?
Try and contact us at least 4 weeks before you would like your dance lessons to start. This will give us plenty of time to ensure we have a choreographer available to you. Again, if you have less time we will endeavour to arrange lessons to suit the shorter timescale.

About your wedding dance lesson package

How much is each wedding dance lesson?
£50.00 per hour's lesson. A 1 hour Trial Lesson is £60.00. Any more than 1 hour and the lessons work out at £50.00/hour.
(All prices above include VAT)

How long is each dance lesson?
Lessons are normally 1 to 1.5 hours long. A five hour package is arranged over 4 sessions (2 x 1 hour lessons and 2 x 1.5 hour lessons), ideally with lessons every other week to allow plenty of time for practice inbetween. However, in some cases we can extend the lesson duration to 2 hours if this is appropriate. Over 2 hours and you're going to get a little tired as dancing can be pretty energetic.

How many wedding dance lessons will we need?
To learn a full routine we have found that the optimum amount of time is 5 hours, as we have found that it takes this long to create the perfect routine. However, you may have as few or as many hours as you like. If it is less than 5 hours you are unlikely to be able to complete a whole routine though.

How to book

How do we book?
Please take a look at our First Dance UK Booking page. You will need to complete our secure online booking form (link to online booking form is on our booking page). On completing the form you will be given a secure login to our booking system to fill out the rest of the information we require to organise your lessons. You will be contacted by phone and/or email through the stages of the booking process.

How to pay

How and when do we pay for our dance lessons?
Payment is due once your booking is completed. You will automatically receive an invoice by email. Full payment is required prior to your first lesson. You can pay over the telephone by credit/debit card, or by cheque.

Your actual first dance lessons

Where are the dance lessons held?
The lessons are held in the comfort of your own home. We travel to you!

How much space do we need?
If you can stand an arm's length apart and go around in a circle, you have enough room. More room is obviously beneficial though. In good weather you can even dance outside if you like!

What if we don't have enough room?
If you have friends or family nearby we can hold the lessons there. We are happy to hold the lessons anywhere suitable.

When are the dance lessons held?
Lessons are normally held in the evenings and at weekends, as this seems to be most convenient for our couples. Other times are possible if specifically arranged.

Is there a choreographer near me?
Yes, more than likely. We have choreographers based throughout the UK.

We don't have enough room at home, what can we do?
First Dance UK will travel to your parents, friends or relatives. In extreme cases you may have to book a hall/studio if you know of nowhere suitable.

What do we have to wear?
Anything comfortable that doesn't restrict your movement. The bride will need to wear shoes similar to her wedding shoes for at least one of the latter lessons.

We aren't very confident, we both have two
left feet, can you help us?

Absolutely! Our choreographers are experienced working with couples who have no dance experience at
all. They will happily guide you through every step until you are completely comfortable, and have a routine that suits you and your wants & capabilities.
